Life can feel overwhelming at times, yet there is a wise, compassionate core of you that can be accessed more readily than you may realize. Together we will strengthen your connection to this ever-present source of comfort and well-being in the midst of life’s ups and downs. As you “come home” to yourself, your capacity to receive grows, which enriches your relationship with other people and life.
My primary lens for individual work is Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. IFS is based in the idea that you are made up of different parts—one part of you wants partnership and another part of you wants to be alone, one part of you wants to be present and show up in your life and another part of you wants to avoid your feelings at all costs. We are all made up of these inner battles or polarizations.
In an IFS session, I help you to use mindful awareness of your body to contact these parts of you so that you can come into conscious relationship with them, bring them into balance, and lead with your deepest, wisest Self, rather than from your young, wounded parts. This core Self that is curious, compassionate, calm, and clear is the one you have been waiting for all of your life to witness your pain and help you release and transform your wounds and beliefs.
I am amazed at the depth of transformation I see in clients (and myself) with IFS. As I support you in welcoming, listening to, and caring for all parts of you, wounds that seemed unreachable come within grasp and can be healed. As those wounds heal and burdens are lifted you will feel more relaxed, open, and joyful.
IFS is an evidence-based practice shown to be effective in treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, physical health conditions, as well as strengthening personal resilience and self-concept (read more here).
